Abstract
This paper introduces two original coined standards, RandProof™ and Proof-of-Fair-Randomness (PoFR)™, and describes RandProof Network, the decentralized permissionless infrastructure that implements these standards across 17+ blockchain networks.
RandProof is designed to scale to fifteen independent entropy sources across seven entropy domains (Blockchain, Government, Academic, Network, User, Cross-Chain, and Protocol-Native), with a target attack cost exceeding $100B once full entropy deployment is reached at Phase 4. Attack cost during the phased rollout (Phases 0–3) is lower and increases as each entropy source goes live, see Section 26 (Roadmap) for the current phase and corresponding source count.
Every system that selects, allocates, or assigns faces the same structural vulnerability: the party running the selection controls the outcome. Government grant programs, clinical trial randomization, NFT distributions, DAO governance, corporate hiring draws, DeFi liquidations, on-chain raffles, all share this trust assumption. Existing solutions either require a third-party oracle token (Competitor VRF requires LINK), are limited to EVM chains, or rely on centralized servers with no cryptographic proof of fairness.
RandProof Network solves this with a permissionless decentralized keeper network implementing the PoFR standard. Every PoFR event produces a RandProof, a permanent on-chain proof artifact verifiable by any party at any time. The network is chain-agnostic, requires no governance token, and operates a transparent 70/20/10 fee split: 70% to keeper node operators, 20% protocol fee to the network treasury, 10% to the gas reserve pool.
BIT5050: the Web3 50/50 raffle protocol ecosystem spanning 17+ chains, is the genesis client of RandProof Network, providing immediate production-scale demand for the PoFR standard from day one.
